At which value did you set button control rate?(Option > Controls) If you say you are struggling to keep it straight on corner exit, maybe the value is a bit too high(ie: it goes from no throttle to full throttle too quickly). I'd suggest to set it to 2(minimum value), and see if you make any improvement from there.
Feel free to upload a replay in this thread. Maybe even upload an hotlap on LFSW and check the hotlap analyser(http://www.lfsworld.net/rafa/) to see on which points of the track you are losing time on the fastest guys.
Does the set use R1(softer) or R2(harder) tyres? R1 can be quite tricky on tyre management. LFS' tyre model is a bit broken on some aspect, one of which is tyre heat. You can check tyre temperature with F9. If the core of the tyre turns lime green/yellow-ish, they're probably over-heating.
You don't -need- one in the sense that some driver can be pretty competitive and find enjoyment without. But the game is so much more fun(and probably easier) with a good, reliable wheel.
You're far from being alone, the big question a few years ago was how MotoGP could cope without Rossi. But then Dorna got a godsend with Marquez's arrival and Rossi's revival.
I'd say that bike racing is one of the purest and more entertaining form of motorsport right now. Just a shame that MotoGP had to go with a 3(+)-tier ruleset but there you go.
Good race. Wish I fought for the win or at least top 3, but pace/strategy/restarts were all a little off. 4th in the end. Disappointing, but hey, 10 places better than last year.
Thanks again to deko and NDR for the event. Attendance was lower than before, but still somewhat better than expected a couple days ago, and enough to make an interesting race.
Apart from which I cannot myself, accept the logic of adapting a race simulation for 'cruise' control.
Don't really see the interest of cruising around myself, however driving ten-tenths in real life-like traffic can be lots of fun, and pretty challenging too. Think of it as a standard point-to-point race, with the the added element of traffic as unpredictable mobile chicanes, requiring both anticipation and improvisation.
I remember having good fun with this kind of stuff on Midtown Madness 2 and NFS(the first one, on PSx, which was actually very decent for its era), good times.
Thanks for all the blood, sweat and tears you guys put in over the years!
This.
Sad moment, but the writing had been on the wall for a little while now. Actually I'm quite surprised that deko and co somehow found the strength and motivation to keep going for so long, while everything else was crumbling around them.
We will still organize one-off events at our discretion
I think those could still work pretty well actually. All NDR one-off events I can recall have been huge success(unless you count KY250/500 as one-offs, some of them were quite messy of course). And even if some do go wrong for whatever reason, well, the commitements for everyone involved are a lot smaller.
even let objects appear on the fly or on different spots dúring a race.
Interesting idea, actually.
Maybe you could even have objects spawning several meters in the air and landing on the track(like a stack or tyre, or a bale, or anything)? I think there used to be a tool allowing you to adjust the altitude while creating an object, not 100% sure though.
